After participating in the different levels of the Science Fair in Quebec and the Canada-wide final in Edmonton in 2023 with his teammate Mickael Plante, Zachary Dostie, secondary 5 student from Polyvalente de Black Lake, will be part of the delegation of 32 young Canadians at the International Science Fair.
The event will take place from October 21 to 27 in Puebla, Mexico. This is an exhibition of scientific projects that brings together 800 young people from all over the world. As part of this final test of the course, the emphasis will be placed more on communication, cooperation, networking and socio-cultural exchanges rather than on the competitive aspect.
“This is an incredible and unique experience in which a student from the Center de services scolaire des Appalaches (CSSA) is participating for the first time. Zachary can be very proud of his unique journey which earned him the privilege of participating in this major gathering,” mentioned the school’s director, Jean-Pierre Marceau.
Note that the CSSA and the Société nationale des Québécois gave him an amount of $300 and $200 respectively.
