While Zach LaVine transfer rumors have swirled around this summer, the fullback is still in Chicago. The reason ? The Bulls would ask a lot of interested teams.
With Nikola Vucevic’s extension, the Bulls are headed for a status quo this summer for now. Lonzo Ball will spend an additional season in the infirmary and the DeRozan-LaVine pair has not moved. However, the double winner of the Dunk Contest has been announced more than once in the rumors. It was even rumored that Chicago was open to a departure from its 28-year-old All-Star. Sixers, Blazers, Knicks, several teams were cited as potential destinations but at no time did the file seem close to being completed. According to Fred Katz of The Athleticthe Bulls would ask a “huge” price to transfer their player.
The Knicks contacted the Bulls regarding Zach LaVine this summer, but the asking price was “giant,” a source told @FredKatz.

If the exact consideration is not specified by the insider, it seems that this is the reason why the Knicks in particular would have withdrawn from the negotiations. Their proposal being too far from Chicago’s requirements.
It remains to be seen whether the Bulls have eyes bigger than their stomachs or whether the franchise has simply changed its tune regarding Zach LaVine, who averaged 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season. The full-back is under contract until 2027 and will be paid $40m next season.
