Although Strahovski is best known for her role as Serena Joy in the film adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s cult novel “The Handmaid’s Tale”, it is worth knowing that she also starred in the famous series Dexter, in the films “I, Frankenstein”, “Manhattan Mysteries” and “Predator”. In private, she is a happy wife and mother of three sons, the oldest of whom is six years old.

The actress has a busy fall ahead of her – she’s shooting the final season of “The Handmaid’s Tale.” She’s also started working on a role in the series “Teacup.”

Yvonne Strahovski’s Polish roots

Before this busy time, the star recharged her batteries in Poland, where she spent her vacation. Did she rest? – Yes, I mean I rested for sure, but every time we are in Poland, there is no time for anything. We have so many meetings and we want to see the whole family and we always lack this time. This time we were in Masuria, in the town of Leleszki and also on Lake Wigry – she said.

It must be admitted, as can be heard in the interview, that Yvonne speaks Polish very fluently. – My parents tried their whole lives to make sure I knew Polish. I went to Polish school every Saturday and somehow I learned the language. And I can see how difficult it is, because my husband is trying to learn Polish now, because I teach my children. And he is at about the same stage as my two-year-old child. – she admitted.

One of her favorite parts of Polish culture is the cuisine. “Today I’m going to make kopytka.” And [robię – przyp. red.] potato pancakes, all soups really. We try to have a traditional Christmas Eve every year and I always prepare the standard herring, Greek fish. My husband once made a pate and it turned out well, but I’ve never made pierogi myself. – she confessed.
