The death on Saturday of Yvon Pedneault touched more than one since he was a man appreciated by all. His son, Éric, felt the love of the public by the many tributes paid to his father, which made him very grateful.
But everything happened very quickly according to the words of Éric Pedneault when the disease took away his father in a few weeks.
“We got him (to the hospital) on July 29 or 30, he confided on Monday during the Mario Dumont show on LCN. It happened pretty quickly. You found something, then something else and there was a little delirium through it all.
“He had moments of lucidity, but he had moments when he was a little lost. The last week, everything gave out, the kidneys gave out. That’s the disease. We are never prepared for this. Never.”
And by quickly, Éric Pedneault is talking about a few weeks. Indeed, he confided that everything seemed normal with his father after the day of the free agents of the NHL, July 1st. What started out as fatigue turned into confusion before escalating.
But Éric Pedneault is grateful for all the good words about his father, whom he considered “my boyfriend”.
“I knew that my father was appreciated, but not like that, underlined Éric Pedneault. Not like that. It is enormous […] I did not expect that. It’s a tsunami. But it’s good for the soul, it’s good to see that he was very appreciated.
