€22,361.91. This is the exact sum that Yves lost in two days due to bank fraud. In a way that is currently unexplained, thugs managed to empty his ING account.
Our colleagues from RTL-Info explain that it all started when the Brussels resident’s code was recognized as fake when using his card or application. If the bank reassures by saying that it is a “phenomenon that can happen”, the story got worse overnight.
While he was sleeping, Yves received an SMS: “ING Info: your mobile number has been changed, call if it’s not you”. The Brussels man might not do anything. When he woke up, 14,000 euros had disappeared from his bank account. If he quickly blocked his card, the thugs were able to continue their purchases.
Result: Yves has lost more than €22,000 and still doesn’t know how he will get his money back…
