Yván Gil accuses Núñez Feijóo of supporting violent protests in Venezuela

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yvan Gilaccused Núñez Feijóo, president of the Popular Party (PP) of Spain, of supporting “violent exits” in Venezuela.

On his Telegram channel, Yván Gil accused Núñez Feijóo of encouraging “violent exits” with the aim of achieving a “regime change” in Venezuela.

Gil criticized Núñez Feijóo’s statements

This statement came in response to the comments of the Spanish politician, who had expressed his support for former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia, currently asylum in Spain.

He accused the Spanish opposition of being at the service of Western “imperialism,” stressing that this revives the “curse of Malinche.”

He also denounced the existence of a Venezuelan oligarchy that, according to him, has caused serious damage to the people through economic warfare and the denial of the right to live in peace.

The chancellor criticized the statements of the leader of the Spanish right, who maintained that the purpose of Spain’s arrival in America was to establish freedom and democracy.

Gil described this argument as “ridiculous” and warned about the dangerous “ignorance” it could generate among his followers, who could come to “idealize the colonial era as a time of fun, ignoring the realities of the Inquisition and the looting of wealth as pearls, gold and silver.

This is what Núñez Feijóo said

Núñez Feijóo reaffirmed his connection with Ibero-American history and highlighted the existence of a Hispanic community united by culture and common interests.

«As a Spaniard, I claim the history that my ancestors wrote in America. I am proud of our king, who gives stability and prestige to Spain throughout the world. And, of course, I refuse to apply value judgments that are 500 years late,” he declared.
