The Superior Court of Justice of San Martín sentenced in first instance to Richard Jesus Sandoval Leandro to life imprisonment for the crime of patricide. The subject was tried for raping and murdering his own 11-year-old daughter.
Likewise, Irene Comitivo Villacorta, mother of the girl, was convicted of improper omission for the crime against life, body and health in the modality of Parricide to the detriment of her daughter and for this reason she was sentenced to twenty-eight years.
This crime occurred in the city of yurimaguas on February 28, 2017. The 11-year-old girl was sexually abused in her parents’ bedroom and according to information from the National Policethe little girl was found bled, as she would have been killed with a sharp weapon.
Both convicts must also pay ten thousand soles for civil compensation. The money will go to the Alto Amazonas Headquarters Women’s Emergency Center.
The victim’s parents were in pretrial detention in the Yurimaguas prison, but only until the end of 2017. The Appeals Chamber of the Tarapoto Criminal Chamber granted them freedom to face the process by appearance.
That is why the Court of San Martín ordered that the provisional execution of the sentence be suspended until the sentence is confirmed in second instance.
The case of the minor brought strong indignation in the population of Yurimaguas since what happened. The main complaints were addressed to the Prosecutor’s Office due to the delay in the investigations, since it has been almost six years since the crime occurred.

Jose Miguel Cano he managed to trick the victim into the house, after which he abused her. The older sister of the teenager was the one who reported the attack to the National Police.
