Yuri Vaksman passed away in Yaroslavl. Olga Kutuzova’s story tells how the famous actor and producer will remain in the memory of his loved ones and colleagues.
Cheerful and energetic Yuri Vaksman walked up to the Volkovsky stage to receive his next award. On International Theater Day he was awarded for his special contribution to this art. Waxman created his theater from scratch. He never managed to celebrate the anniversary of the Yaroslavl Chamber. On the eve of the 25th anniversary, Yuri Vaksman passed away.
Sergey Sharifullin, actor of the Yaroslavl Chamber Theater p/r Vl. Vorontsova, actor of the theater and cinema:
“This is a person who trusted me before he left. I am extremely grateful to him for the fact that he believed in me, believed and trusted me with some big works, big and serious. Well, what can I say, there are artist guys who are also under his leadership, this is our captain.”
He did not immediately become captain. Exactly twenty-five years ago the first and only private theater in Russia appeared. The permanent leader of which was Yuri Mikhailovich. The theater venue was located in the Actor cafe. His performances were always sold out, and tables and chairs had to be cleared away. The repertoire opened with the play “Interview”. This is one of those productions in which the actor took part until the end of his life.

“Of course, it seems to me that this is a tragedy not only of Yaroslavl and the Chamber Theater. This is a tragedy for all of Russia. It was impossible to keep up with him: more than a hundred film roles. One of the most famous is Nikolai Grossman in the television series “Molodezhka”. And also performances in our own theater. There were many creative plans: in April, the actor was going on tour to Kostroma, where he was preparing to play the main role in the production of “Veselchak”

“About actors, regarding legends, legends of the stage, and Yuri Mikhailovich immediately said, when we had not yet staged this performance, he said that we would dedicate this performance to the actors who had passed on and are now living, so his last performance was like this”
The Yaroslavl Chamber Theater was left without a director. In memory of Yuri Vaksman, the troupe is going to complete his last production, “A Simple Formality.” For young actors, he was not just a mentor, but a father. This is how Yuri Vaksman spoke regarding the theater in one interview:
“The theater will not disappear anywhere. I will be alive, I will not be alive, but I really hope that the stage of the Chamber Theater will always exist.”
Olga Kazakova, actress of the Yaroslavl Chamber Theater:
“The person who took upon himself the responsibility of leading the theater, and for us he is, this is the first person who leads the theater, for whom we followed and will strive to continue his work.”
Friends and colleagues unanimously speak regarding Yuri Vaksman: he will live within the walls of his theater, in the midst of its team and audience.
