AN extraordinary performance was given by Yura Yunita in the Sabang-Merauke Performance which took place at Jiexpo, Kemayoran, Jakarta. Performing for two days on August 17-18, 2024, Yura transformed into a singer and sang on the head of Dadak Merak or known as Reog Ponorogo.
Yura appeared as a singer during the West Java session, seen from her Instagram story upload @Yurayunita, she appeared in a silver dress with a cloth bottom that had a high thigh slit. The 33-year-old singer appeared beautiful and flexible like a singer.
“Where is the spirit? Dayeuh Kolot, what’s the matter with you? Those at the top, in the middle, everyone, where are their voices?” Yura shouted during the performance.
Accompanied by drums, a typical Sundanese musical instrument, Yura performed her signature song titled Bandung. Like a singer, Yura performed energetically while dancing accompanied by a number of background dancers.
After finishing her performance as a Singer, Yura also appeared in the East Java session. Different from her appearance as an energetic singer, this time Yura appeared graceful in a bright red Javanese traditional dress.
Surprisingly, the singer who is currently viral on social media through her video of her singing the song Risalah Hati, appeared from the stage like an angel, she floated using a sling rope while singing a Javanese song.

On stage, Yura was already awaited by Dadak Merak. After landing her feet on the stage, the singer from West Java was immediately lifted to sit on Dadak Merak’s head. On Dadak Merak, Yura sang Waldjinah’s song Walang Kekek.
Accompanied by background dancers wearing Bujang Ganong costumes, Yura sang the song Walang Kekek melodiously, and closed the East Java session sweetly. In addition to appearing in the West Java and East Java sessions, Yura also appeared in other sessions including the Riau session as the wife of the character Hang Tuah and the Papua session.
“Celebrating Independence Day, featuring various melodies and cultures at the Sabang Merauke Performance,” wrote Yura in her Instagram post.
It is known that the Sabang-Merauke Performance is a broadway show that features a series of dances and regional costumes from various provinces in Indonesia. In addition to Yura, performing there are Isyana Sarasvati, Christine Tambunan, Gabriel Harvianto, Yan Josua and more than 300 dancers from all over Indonesia. (M-3)
