A large-scale rally of conservative and progressive groups was held in downtown Seoul over the weekend over the request for an arrest warrant for the head of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee Jae-myung.
Conservative groups insisted on the immediate arrest of Lee Jae-myung, and progressive groups condemned the prosecution’s investigation and demanded the resignation of the regime.

This followingnoon, at the War Memorial of Korea in front of the President’s Office in Yongsan, progressive and conservative groups gather to start a rally.
Progressive groups criticized the prosecution’s request for an arrest warrant for Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myeong as unfair, demanding the resignation of the government and a special prosecutor once morest first lady Kim Kun-hee.

Conservative groups criticized Lee Jae-myung’s defense of the Democratic Party and progressive forces and insisted on Lee’s immediate arrest.

Right now, a rally is being held behind me to condemn the Yoon Seok-yeol government.
On the other side of the street, just 300m away, a rally calling for the arrest investigation of Lee Jae-myung is taking place at the same time.
The candlelight vigil marched from the War Memorial of Korea to City Hall Station and continued to speak, and the New Freedom Solidarity followed suit, leading to clashes large and small among the participants.

The police estimated 15,000 people at the rally for progressive groups and 1,000 for conservative groups.
The police controlled three lanes from the Samgak area to City Hall Station and put in regarding 2,700 police officers, but traffic congestion continued throughout the day.
