Yucatecan golfer Manuel Barbachano, from George Washington University, was crowned champion of the Savannah Intercollegiate collegiate golf tournament.
Barbachano Lascurain fought until the last round, followed by Brock Winter, from North Dakota State, both finished with 209 strokes, following three days of competition and in the end the Yucatecan won the championship. Manuel had a first day with a score of 71 strokes, but with good improvement the following two rounds, finishing with 70 and 68 strokes for a sum of 209, 7 under par. Same as Brock.
His teammates Rodrigo Barahona finished in 24th position with 221 and Jakub Hrinda in 26th with 222. These are the two best behind Manuel. By teams, George Washington University finished in third place with 869 strokes, just two behind second place, North Dakota State who finished with 867 and first place went to Columbia with 856.
