Golf prospect Yubin Jang (Korea National University of Sports) won the gold medal in the men’s individual event at the 2022 World University Golf Championships.
Yubin Jang won the final 4 rounds held in Turin, Italy on the 24th (Korean time) following beating Furukawa Ryunosuke (Japan) following extra time. Yubin Jang, who tied the game with a total of 15-under 273 on the 4th, defeated Furukawa in extra time.
Wooyoung Cho (Korea National University of Sports) finished tied for 6th at 10-under 278 strokes, and Hyun-jun Yoo (Kyunghee University) finished tied for 13th with 3-under-par 285 strokes. The men’s team was tied with Japan, but had to be satisfied with the runner-up by the local rules.
In the women’s division, Park Da-eun (Sungkyunkwan University) finished 4th with 1-over 289 strokes, Byeon Woo-jin (Yongin University) tied for 16th with 15-over 303 strokes, and Han Hee-rim (Korea National University) tied 28th with 27-over 315 strokes.
