Young Thug was arrested on suspicion of being linked to the Young Slime Life gang, close to the Bloods. The rapper is due to appear this Tuesday (10 May 22).

Young Thug was arrested Monday (9 May 22) on charges of criminal street gang activity.

The interpreter of Go Crazy was placed in police custody for 56 counts associating it with 26 other people of the gang Young Slime Life (YSL). Prosecutors say YSL is affiliated with the powerful Bloods gang.

Complex reports that Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, is being held in Fulton County Jail for conspiring to violate the Racketeer-Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and participating in criminal gang activity. . The rapper is named as a gang “founder” by prosecutors.

Another rapper, Gunna (Sergio Giavanni Kitchens), is also suspected on one count of attempted violation of the RICO Act. He is not incarcerated yet. Prosecutors are using Fox 5 video of Gunna in which he wears a YSL pendant as evidence of gang activity.

Atlanta reporter Michael Seiden reports that the charges once morest Young Thug also include attempted murder and possession of a weapon by an incarcerated individual. The rapper is accused of renting a car that was used in the 2015 murder of rival gang member Donovan Thomas Jr.

Prosecutors also allege that two YSL associates, Christian Eppinger and Antonio Sumlin, asked Young Thug for permission to attempt the life of rapper YFN Lucci. Lucci was stabbed at Fulton County Jail last February. Both men have also been charged.

Young Thug will make his first court appearance on Tuesday. He was scheduled to perform next month at the State Farm Arena.
