The YouTuber who caused the controversy in the first place apologized amid allegations that EXO member Chanyeol (real name Park Chanyeol) was driving intimidation by a female motorcycle driver.
On the 28th, the YouTuber posted on Instagram, “I’m sorry that many people must have gone through a confusing situation, and I’m posting this explanation to clear up a little bit of misunderstanding.” I never mentioned it,” he said.
He continued, “I made what I saw and felt on YouTube regarding who the person in the video would be, but the speculative comments I made while watching the video and the content of the threatening driving I mentioned in the broadcast started as the subject of a provocative article and were distorted. It is regrettable that the rumors seem to have come to light as if they had been revealed.” He apologized, “I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the person who may have been harmed by the speculative comments.”
Earlier, on Channel S’s ‘Attack on Grandma’, which was broadcast on the 26th, the YouTuber appeared and said that he had been threatened by a male idol while driving. Afterwards, he made and released a related video on his YouTube channel, and the video was shared with various online communities and the person responsible for driving the threat was pointed out as EXO member Chanyeol, and he apologized for it.
At the time, the YouTuber claimed that he was riding a motorcycle and a vehicle threatened him while driving, and said, “I was waiting for a signal and when I approached to ask the reason for the threatening driving, I cursed my finger.”
A video released by a YouTuber showed a man cussing his fingers and wearing a hoodie hat when filming began. A YouTuber said that the person who threatened him was ‘one of the most famous idols in Korea’ and disclosed the hand shape, vehicle model, dog, and tattoo location of the person who was driving the threat.
On the 27th, SM Entertainment, Chanyeol’s agency, said, “The person in the video is not Chanyeol, and the vehicle is different from Chanyeol’s vehicle. We will take strong measures once morest the spread of false information.”
