O YouTube is launching a new feature for its music streaming app that lets you create playlist arts personalized using generative artificial intelligencea, as announced yesterday (24/10).

The novelty (still in the experimental phase) is available, however, only in English for users in USA. The company said it plans to bring the feature to other regions and languages “in the future.”

In any case, to take advantage of the functionality, simply click on the current default image of a playlist and, in the editing section, scroll through different themes — such as travel, nature, landscape, fantasy, animals and humor — for art.

After selecting a theme, you can perform some command. For example, if you select the animal theme, you can choose to receive an image of a pug “in the style of a medieval Gothic painting” or “in the style of a Pop Art painting”.

After making your selections, you can click the “Create” button and you will then be presented with a series of AI-generated images to choose from. When you find your favorite, just click “save” for it to appear as the artwork for the playlist in question.

Other news

YouTube also announced that, in the coming months, it will launch a new feature in the main tab of the streaming app that will make it easier for users to access the songs and artists they have listened to repeatedly.

More precisely, as soon as users open the app, they will see their recent favorite artists at the top of the Home tab — similar to Spotify.

Other recently launched new features were also highlighted, including a personalized short-form video feed (TikTok style) called “Samples”as well as lyrics in real time.
