Youth table tennis district championships: New district champions crowned

130 boys and girls in Klecken at the start

Around 130 young talents (94 last year) took part in the two-day youth table tennis district championships in the Rosengarten sports hall in Klecken. In all individual competitions, the first two in each group continued in a play-off field in the main round. The remaining participants enjoyed knockout games in the consolation round.

In the age group (AK) 13, the local heroes from the host club SC Klecken secured the title. Johanna Kay and Fiete Krebs (on the right in the picture) each stood on the podium three times. Together they also won the mixed competition.

In the girls’ competition, Evita Gosselk (MTV Brackel) remained undefeated in six singles, and she also won in the doubles alongside Paula Röse (SC Klecken).

On the second day of the tournament, the games of the age group (AK) 11 were on the program. In the boys’ singles, Maximilian Eggers (TuS Fleestedt) achieved a 7:0 record and won the singles and doubles title together with his club colleague Bennet Schlotmann.
