Youth Pass: Through vouchers.gov.gr 150 euros

The platform for submitting applications for the Youth Pass has officially opened, with the aim of providing financial support of 150 euros to approximately 200,000 18- and 19-year-olds. Beneficiaries of the Youth Pass can submit their applications either through the digital platform vouchers.gov.gr or through the KEP until Tuesday, December 5.

The aid will have been sent to the credit institutions by Friday 8 December and all beneficiaries will receive the aid by 10 December 2023.

Beneficiaries of the Youth Pass per year are natural persons, tax residents of Greece, who on December 31 of the calendar year preceding their application have reached the eighteenth (18th) or nineteenth (19th) year of their age and have not reached on the same date in the twentieth (20th) year.

Applicants for the Youth Pass financial facility, who on December 31 of the calendar year preceding their application have turned eighteen (18) years of age, receive in the form of a digital debit card 150 euros in the year of submission of the application and , as long as they still meet the necessary conditions, an additional 150 euros in the following year.

Applicants for the Youth Pass financial facility, who on December 31 of the calendar year preceding their application have turned nineteen (19) years of age, receive a digital debit card of 150 euros in the year of application submission.

What you should watch out for

If someone does not apply when they are 18 and complete the process at 19, they will not get double the amount retroactively, but only the 150 euros for the second year.

The Youth Pass is in the form of a digital debit card, which beneficiaries will be able to use in businesses operating in the fields of culture, tourism and transport. Beneficiaries can make use of the aid they will receive to make purchases or receive services from businesses active in the fields of tourism (e.g. in tourist accommodation), culture (e.g. to attend theater performances or concerts, for the purchase of books, etc.) and transportation (taxi, buses, trains, ferry – plane tickets or for the rental of cars or pleasure boats, etc.).

Especially for the calendar year 2023, it is possible to submit applications on the website until 5/12/2023 by those potential beneficiaries who have reached their eighteenth (18th) or nineteenth (19th) year of age within the calendar year 2022.

From the calendar year 2024, potential beneficiaries can apply to participate in the Program from April 1st to May 15th of each year (The start of the special application each year does not take place on a Saturday, Sunday or other holiday and is moved to the next working day day).

The application is submitted once and is not resubmitted after the beneficiary turns 19. The payment of the beneficiaries for the following year takes place automatically, after re-checking the conditions for participation in the Program.

How to submit Youth Pass applications

A necessary condition, for the beneficiary to receive the financial aid, is to submit a timely application to the relevant Application by logging in using the credential codes of the General Secretariat of Public Administration Information Systems (taxisnet) on the website.

To complete the process, the potential beneficiary must be registered in the National Register of Communications (NRC), in order to confirm their mobile phone number.

After entering the Application, the beneficiary enters in the fields displayed in the system the contact details, in particular the e-mail address and the mobile phone number, selects the credit institution he wishes to issue the Youth Pass digital debit card and requests the issuing the digital debit card and crediting the relevant amount.

ATTENTION: After confirming the contact information, in order to submit the application definitively, it is necessary to press the “Submit” button at the bottom of the application page.

It is noted that the digital debit card can be used both in physical stores with a device that supports contactless transaction technology (via the NFC protocol), and in e-shops to carry out electronic transactions.

Of course, it is possible to apply for the Youth Pass through KEP.

ATTENTION: Youth Pass Program digital debit cards remain active for two (2) years from the following month of issue. After this period, it is not possible to carry out transactions with them.

Will I be informed about the realization of the aid credit?

After the aid payments have been made, an automated message is sent to the e-mail address of the beneficiary stated in the application for receiving the financial aid, for the successful crediting of the aid paid or information in the event of its rejection.

What timetable is expected to be followed for issuing the digital debit cards and crediting the Youth Pass grant to them?

The aid for all beneficiaries is sent once a year to the banking institutions for credit to the digital debit cards by May 31 of each year. Especially for the first application within 2023, the above credit takes place until December 10, 2023.

It is reminded that the digital debit cards of the Youth Pass Program remain active for two (2) years from the following month of their issue. After this period, it is not possible to carry out transactions with them.
