Youssef El Serkal: Smart projects to improve mental health

Dr. Yousef Mohammed Al Serkal, Director General of the Emirates Foundation for Health Services, stressed the Foundation’s keenness to promote comprehensive and integrated mental health services, and to adopt smart and innovative projects to improve mental health and the quality of life of all members of the Emirati society in its various components, in addition to launching an integrated package of health awareness programs and initiatives. Mental health in the community, provided by the Foundation’s smart communication channels, to provide mental health services in accordance with the highest international standards, noting that the Foundation has launched several qualitative projects and initiatives to provide psychological support and support to health cadres in order to enhance their capabilities and enable them to provide mental health services to individuals with efficiency and quality.

Al Serkal explained that the Foundation launched a package of initiatives specialized in the field of mental health, such as the “Nasalcom” initiative, which includes the activation of health guidance clinics in primary health care centers, as well as the electronic community mental health clinic, the “Speak to Hear You” initiative, to provide psychological counseling to members of the community, and the electronic unit. Early detection of autism, the program for early detection of dementia using artificial intelligence, and the initiative of psychological support for health care providers.
