Dermatologist Sophie Vadeboncoeur says she has noticed an increase in the number of young girls who are fond of many skin care products and warns once morest certain products.
“In my offices, young people often arrive with bags of products in which there is a fairly impressive variety,” she says. My role is to simplify the routine and try to teach that we have to pay attention to marketing in all of this because there are not many of these products that are really beneficial.”
Salespeople from Séphora also address the phenomenon of young girls addicted to expensive products in their own videos on the TikTok platform.
“In an ideal world, of course we would stick to a very simple routine with a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen, because young people’s skin is just what it’s like. “she needs,” explains Ms. Vadeboncoeur.
She also advises avoiding products that contain retinol.
“I think we all agree that a 10 or 11 year old does not need anti-wrinkle or anti-aging treatment,” she maintains. Is it dangerous to do so? The answer is no, but there can be side effects.”
Makeup artist Virginie Vandelac also notes an increase in the number of young girls who come to her makeup classes.
“I think what is important is to educate them on the right gestures to do with makeup,” she says. If we use a sponge, we must clean it daily, as do our brushes because they can accumulate bacteria which can cause pimples.”
She also indicates that according to her, the best anti-aging remains sunscreen.
