Young man from San Pedro is the best graduate of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the UNA

Asuncion, IP Agency.- Agricultural Engineer Roberto Adrián Areco Núñez, originally from the department of San Pedro, received the Diploma of Honor for Merit from the National University of Asunción and the medal of honor, at the graduation ceremony of the FCA/UNA San Pedro Branch, held on Friday, August 23.

The graduates belong to the 2023 Promotion called “Environmental Change, a Global Challenge” and are from the Agricultural Engineering Degree and the Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Administration, which are the two degrees offered by the FCA/UNA in its San Pedro Branch.

The new Agricultural Engineer stood out for his academic performance among the graduates of the five branches and the San Lorenzo headquarters.

After the presentation of degrees, the best graduate addressed his classmates and those present at the ceremony, during which he emphasized that “Agricultural sciences play a fundamental role in the development of our country.”

“We are part of a generation that has the challenge and opportunity to contribute to sustainable growth, food security, and the conservation of our natural resources. Our work not only impacts the present, but also builds the future for generations to come,” he said.

“Personally, looking back, I feel immense satisfaction for what I have accomplished. Every step along the way, every effort made, every challenge overcome has brought me to this point. Today, I feel prepared and excited for what lies ahead, for what remains to be learned, and for the impact I hope to have as a professional,” he said.

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Asunción, founded in 1954, will celebrate 70 years of its creation on September 20, training professionals in the field of agricultural sciences.

It offers the following degrees: Agricultural Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Human Ecology Engineering, Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Administration, Environmental Engineering and Agri-Food Engineering. Apart from its headquarters on the UNA campus in San Lorenzo, it has five branches located in the cities of Pedro Juan Caballero, San Pedro de Ycuamandyyú, Caazapá, Santa Rosa Misiones and Boquerón.
