A young man is being hailed as a hero after he drowned while saving his 4-year-old younger brother from the Missouri River, USA.
Alex Harris, 18, was swimming when his little brother, Asher, the little boy got caught in a strong current and was struggling to stay afloat. According to the brothers’ parents, he and his wife heard the young man cry for help when he was in the water.
“I saw his hands come loose and he sank. She knew the exhaustion she was feeling. I tried very hard to get to him faster, “said Nikki Harris, mother of the brothers, for the
medio local Today.
Alex’s lifeless body was pulled from the river on July 24, 2022, one day after the tragedy.
“My son is a hero. If he had to do that over 100 times, he would do the same thing every time. He wasn’t going to leave Asher,” her mother added.
Despite the age difference, Alex and Asher had a very special bond and now the little boy says that his brother is in heaven with Jesus. However, he has not assimilated that he will never return.
