“Young Man Arrested for Throwing Currency in Doha Corniche, Qatar and Malayali Youth Reported Missing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia”

Doha: A young man was arrested for throwing away currency from the Doha Corniche in Qatar. The action of the Ministry of Interior of Qatar came to attention following the video footage of Qatar currency being thrown away was widely circulated on social media.

It is clear in the video that the currency is being thrown by a man dressed as an Arab. More information regarding him is not clear. Below you can see many people standing to get currency. According to a statement released by the Home Ministry, the arrested youth has been handed over to the public prosecution for further legal action.

Complaint that expatriate Malayali youth is missing
Riyadh: A Malayali youth working in Saudi Arabia has been missing for two months. Ashianail Muhammad Roshan Malayil (25), a native of Vadakara Puduppanam, Kozhikode, who worked in a restaurant in Riyadh, was missing from the family of the Indian Embassy. The embassy officials have forwarded the complaint to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs seeking help in the investigation.

The young man who arrived in Riyadh in March 2020 had been working in a Malayali restaurant in Sulai for the past three years. He has been missing since February 20. The last call home was on February 17. Mobile SIM is inactive following missing. Social media accounts are also not opened. The hotel management informed the family that they are investigating the youth.
