Young Man Adds Rum to Marathon Runners’ Drink; Accused in viral video identified – News18 Malayalam

A young man adds alcohol to a drink for marathon runners. The incident took place just before a marathon race in Mexico. The video of the incident is also widely circulated on social media. Mexico News Daily reported that police have identified the suspect. It is clear from the footage that he was under the influence of alcohol. Footage shows marathon runners adding white rum to their drink. He himself is recording these scenes. In the video, he can be heard saying that marathon runners can perform better by drinking this drink.

The incident took place in the Polanco neighborhood of Mexico City. The accused mixed rum in the drinks of the runners of the 2022 Mexico City Marathon just before the 42km race. Following the incident, the Institute of Sport in Mexico released a statement. The police said that they will investigate the incident and identify the culprit following examining the CCTV footage.

Later, Javier Hidalgo Ponce, director of the Mexico City Institute of Sports, told Mexican newspaper El Universal that he had identified the man who spiked the drinks. Hidalgo also said the runners did not consume the rum-laced drink because the coordinators were aware of the incident.

The news recently came out that a drunken man left the bar and drove another car thinking it was his own car. As the woman and child in the car screamed in fear, the car lost control and rammed into the transformer on the side of the road. The incident took place in Chotanikara. Ashley, a native of Chotanikara, who left the bar drunk, was driving the car parked near the bar, thinking it was his own car. He drove his wife and child to a shop near the bar and drove off in another car. Immediately following leaving the bar, he got into the car, mistaking it for his own.

The car keys were in it, so drunk Ashley didn’t think anything of it. Ashley panicked when a stranger drove the car and the occupants screamed for him to stop. Meanwhile, the car hit many places. The woman in the car grabbed the steering wheel of the car and the car went out of control and crashed into a nearby transformer. Later, Chotanikara police reached the spot and took Ashley into custody. Ashley told police she drove off thinking it was her car and the occupants were her family.
