Young Judo Stars Shine at State Championships
The Gerhard-Dorfinger-Halle in Straßwalchen recently became a battleground of talent and skill as young judokas from across the region gathered for the state judo championships. Athletes in age groups from U10 to general class took to the mats, showcasing their dedication and hard work in a display of impressive technique and unwavering spirit. The Hallein-Golling Judo Union and the Hallein-Tennengau Judo Club emerged as standout performers, with their athletes earning a remarkable collection of medals.
Hallein-Golling Judokas Clinch Podium Places
The Judounion Hallein-Golling fielded a strong team of 27 judokas, who brought home an impressive 19 medals. Their success story was particularly notable in the U10 to U16 categories, securing them a phenomenal second-place finish in the club rankings.
National Champion titles were bestowed upon Arden Kuru, Elise Wieser, Almin Mahmuljin, Marie Schieferer, and Valentina Tillian, each of whom displayed mastery in their respective weight classes.
Silver medals were awarded to Richard Buchner, Emilia Sampl, Marlena Lechner, Lena Bernhofer, Peter Harlander, Leopold Lechner, and Helena Wieser, proving their skills and tenacity in the face of fierce competition.
Earning bronze medals were Alexander Raffler, Anna Schreder, Rafael Klabacher, Anesa Mahmuljin, and Lea Menneweger. These young athletes fought bravely, demonstrating their growth and potential in the sport.
Hallein-Tennengau Judo Club Makes a Strong Showing
The Hallein-Tennengau Judo Club entered the championships with a team of 14 talented athletes, who also left their mark on the competition. Franziska Leis delivered a truly remarkable performance, dominating the U12 weight class up to 32kg. She won all her fights with Ippon, the highest scoring throw in judo, establishing herself as an undisputed national champion.
Charly Baumgartner (U10 up to 34kg) and Frederik Grasedieck (U12 up to 42kg) showcased their experience and tactical prowess, progressing through their brackets with three consecutive wins each. Both secured the coveted runner-up national champion titles, proving their mettle on the national stage.
Julian Egger (U10 up to 30kg) and Timo Hillinger (U12 up to 42kg) also fought valiantly, adding two more bronze medals to the club’s impressive medal tally. Their dedication and hard work shone through in every match.
