In September :

Counter-Strike 2

Let’s start this list with Counter-Strike 2, which is actually the fifth installment in the series following Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Like its predecessors, Counter-Strike 2 is a competitively-focused multiplayer FPS developed and published by Valve – the studio behind Half-Life and Portal. It therefore follows Counter-Strike Global Offensive released in 2012, but will use the second version of the Source engine for a more realistic rendering. The title will offer several game modes, the main of which opposes two teams of five people, the anti-terrorists and the terrorists. A round ends when an entire team is eliminated, or when the terrorists detonate the bomb or the counter-terrorists defuse it. The project was announced on March 22, 2023. Its release is scheduled for the summer of 2023, and should therefore be released no later than September 23, 2023 if Valve respects the announced release window.

Starfield

Starfield is probably the most anticipated game of this fall. The title is developed and published by Bethesda – studio behind The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or Fallout 4. Starfield is a relatively realistic RPG, set in a science fiction universe. Todd Howard, the game’s director, himself defines Starfield as “Skyrim in space”. It also indicates that the team went to the premises of SpaceX to bring more authenticity to the title. In this space exploration game, it will be possible to travel by ship, to discover more than 1000 different planets, some of which have City-States. The player will be able to create his own character, choose a past for him, give him certain character traits and specialize him as he wishes. Announced at E3 2018, its release is scheduled for September 6, 2023 exclusively on PC and Xbox Series X/S and will be available from its launch day in the Xbox Game Pass.

Payday 3

Payday 3 is a cooperative FPS playable up to four people, developed by the Swedish studio Overkill Software. It is the same studio that took care of the two previous parts of the saga: Payday: The Heist and Payday 2. The title will offer the same thing as the rest of the series, ie four-player heists, where it will be possible to be stealthy or to use the hard way. The game takes place following the end of Payday 2. Overkill has confirmed that the original cast of characters from Payday: The Heist – Dallas, Chains, Wolf and Hoxton – will be in Payday 3, which will take place primarily in New York. The first games were set in the 2010s, but this new installment will take place in the 2020s, with differences like mass surveillance or the rise of cryptocurrency. It is scheduled for September 21, 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Cyberpunk 2077 : Phantom Liberty

Let’s make way for an extension: Cyberpunk 2077 – Phantom Liberty. First DLC for the latest big production from the Polish studio CD Projekt, having already worked on The Witcher license. This big addition of content is intended as a continuation of the basic game, but with all the knobs turned to the bottom. Phantom Liberty brings V to a new, never-before-seen area of Pacifica, a lawless district where lawlessness rules. Johnny Silverhand, played by Keanu Reeves, is still there in addition to actor Idris Elba. An overhaul of the skill tree will also be present, which pushes customization even further. The expansion is scheduled for September 26, 2023 and will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
