When Activision revealed the first details of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 during the broadcast Following the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9, one of the most interesting additions to this next iteration of Treyarch’s acclaimed story was the “omnimovement” system, which will revolutionize how you engage enemies across all modes of the game.
Despite this, some viewers were a little confused regarding how this new mechanic works, whether it will also be available in competitive mode or if it can be disabled, and more.
Now, Activision released its podcast oficial de Call of Dutyand its first episode provided new details on how Omnimotion works. Stephanie, the studio’s senior director of communications, first touched on the feature, talking regarding how players can run, slide, dash, and prone in any direction they want.
Stephanie then talks regarding how players should not only be excited regarding being able to move in any direction, but also chain together specific moves through the omni-movement mechanic and execute their maneuvers.
Later, Matt Ronson, associate design director at Treyarch, offered more details on the mechanics in Black Ops 6.
However, Ronson addressed the question of whether the feature might be disabled and said no. According to him, it is a “core mechanic” of the game and cannot be disabled. However, the “smart movement” mechanic can be disabled.
Smart movement is basically a series of accessibility settings for the player to reduce button presses. It’s similar to an auto-sprint or jump.
Among other things, the director also confirmed that players will no longer be able to loop killstreaks, returning to the traditional system.
You’ll be able to try out the new mechanics in the upcoming Black Ops 6 beta
