The dispute between the artist Nadia Al-Jundi and the artist Nour Al-Sharif led to the latter taking a strict decision to refuse to work with Nadia Al-Jundi or to participate with her in any artistic work.

The reason for the dispute

The dispute between Al-Sharif and Al-Jundi dates back to 1980, when Nour Al-Sharif was invited to participate in the movie Al-Batiniya written by Mustafa Muharram, and he was offered the role of the character “Borai”, a man working in the drug trade. It is very important to him, because it represents a new artistic experience for him at that time.

Al-Sharif began preparing to play the role of Boraei in the movie Al-Batiniyah and bought this character the appropriate clothes and all the necessary equipment, but the winds came with what ships did not desire, as Nadia Al-Jundi refused to allow Nour Al-Sharif to play the role of Boraei in the film.

Nadia Al-Jundi attributed the reason for her refusal to the fact that Nour Al-Sharif had a childish face and was not suitable for the role of Borai’s character at the time, and she chose instead the artist Mahmoud Yassin, who was regarding the same age, and from here the dispute began between them, and Al-Sharif felt that he was subjected to a great insult.

The estrangement between Nour Al-Sharif and Nadia Al-Jundi

Mahmoud Yassin’s choice of the role of Boraei and the exclusion of Nour al-Sharif from him became a reason for the estrangement between the latter and Nadia al-Jundi, which continued until Sharif’s death, when he decided not to work with her at all, and refused many of the roles that the soldier offered him, but at the same time he did not refuse to receive her and sit With her when she was visiting him at his home or meeting him in artistic events, as he was keen to differentiate between his artistic life and his personal life.

Recently, Nadia Al-Jundi said in an interview with Esaad Younis on her Excellency’s program, that the work required the exclusion of Nour Al-Sharif from the role of Borai’s character in the movie Al-Batiniyah, stressing that Al-Sharif insisted following that not to cooperate with her in any artwork until his death.
