Apple has announced the next version of iOS. iOS 16 will allow for deep customization of your iPhone’s lock screen.
On the occasion of the opening of its annual conference for developers, Apple unveiled on Monday the new version of iOS, its operating system for iPhone. As waited a few monthsthe firm has unveiled brand new, largely customizable lock screens for iOS 16.
iOS 16 will thus be able to distinguish itself greatly from previous versions of Apple’s mobile OS thanks to a customization that is, to say the least, original on the side of Apple. It will thus be possible for users to change not only their lock screen background, but also the font… like in the worst hours of Android. Concretely, on iOS 16, users will be able to long press on their lock screen in order to modify the various elements.
Thus, a long press on the time will allow you to modify the font and the writing color. A long press on the wallpaper image will allow you to add filters or modify the photo.
In addition to these more advanced customization features, iOS 16 will continue in the wake of iOS 14 by allowing users to add widgets directly to their lock screen. Concretely, it will be possible to display, directly on the lock screen, its activity circle from Apple Health, its calendar or other elements. Apple said third-party developers will also be able to create widgets to add to the lock screen.
Better notification management
Still on the lock screen, users will also be able to review the way notifications are displayed. From now on, they will be superimposed at the bottom of the screen. A way to avoid the syndrome of too many notifications displayed which can sometimes completely hide the lock screen wallpaper. Another function unveiled by Apple, Live Activites, will allow you to see, without having to unlock your smartphone, the evolution of a status, whether it is music in progress, a football match taking place at the same time or tracking an Uber ride.
Apple has also indicated that these lock screens can be personalized according to your Focus. Thus, you can have a personal lock screen and another more dedicated to your professional activity. You can also save multiple lock screens. Finally, iOS 16 will allow you to take advantage of preconfigured lock screens with animations related to the weather or with space images.
iOS 16 should be available for iPhone users in the next few hours in beta. The final version should arrive with the iPhone 14next fall.
