You may get it in the winter.. Here are the signs of dehydration to watch out for

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — People can get dehydrated in the winter too, and not just because of the extreme heat during the summer.

And the Saudi Ministry of Health recommended, through a tweet on “Twitter”, that people should protect themselves from dehydration during the winter season by drinking a sufficient amount of water, at least two liters per day, and adding fluids to meals.

What are the signs of dehydration in adults and children?

  • Feeling thirsty
  • Vertigo or dizziness
  • feeling tired
  • Dry mouth, lips, and eyes
  • Urinating less than 4 times during the day
  • Urine was dark yellow in color and had a strong odor

Drinking water is not only useful in avoiding dehydration, as a new study shows that hydrating the body with an adequate amount of water is associated with a lower risk of developing chronic diseases, dying early, and aging biologically.

  • Lettuce: contains 95.6% water.
  • Celery: contains 95.4% water.

  • Cantaloupe: contains 90.2% water.
