Despite high pricea new powerful console PlayStation 5 Pro justifies its existence. Such thoughts in a conversation with the resource IGN shared an industry veteran Vince Zampella — head Respawn Entertainment and general producer Battlefield.
As Zampella noted, the PlayStation 5 Pro does indeed “bite” in terms of price, however you simply won’t be able to assemble a gaming computer with similar performance for the same moneyIn this regard, the Sony device remains a good buy, especially for the avid gaming audience, the developer believes.
“I don’t see anything particularly surprising. We need solutions that can deliver the best performance for the part of the audience that really cares. That’s great. I’ve been watching the reaction to the price announcement, and there were those who called [PlayStation 5 Pro] the most expensive console in history. But it’s not. Look back and see that some gaming systems cost the same or, taking inflation into account, were valued even higher.
The initial shock is understandable, but when you look at things more closely, it becomes clear that everything is not so bad. If you try to build yourself a gaming PC for $700, then a similar [с PlayStation 5 Pro] you won’t get any productivity from it.
You have to understand that it’s a balancing act. Is the new console an expensive purchase? Absolutely. Not everyone can afford it. Would it be better if it were cheaper? Absolutely. The more people who can buy it, the better. But their pricing is still very reasonable,” Vince Zampella explained.
Let us remind you that PlayStation 5 Pro will go on sale on November 7 this year. The console will cost $700 in the US and €800 in Europe.
