‘You can hate him, you can’t ignore him’; Sanju with a one-handed catch

Harare: Malayali wicketkeeper Sanju V Samson with a super catch in the second ODI against Zimbabwe. Sanju’s one-handed acrobatic catch was to dismiss opener Kaitano. Kaitano was dismissed by Muhammad Siraj while scoring seven runs from 32 balls. Sanju took a total of three catches in the match.

After the catch, Sanju became trending on Twitter. ‘You can love him, hate him, love him. But can’t be ignored’ said one fan.

India won the match by five wickets. Batting first, Zimbabwe were all out for 161 runs in 38.1 overs. Batting in reply, India reached the target with the loss of five wickets in 25.4 overs.

Sanju is the top scorer in the Indian innings. The player scored 43 runs from 39 balls with the help of four sixes and three fours. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill who scored 33 runs each played a crucial role in the victory. Captain KL Rahul failed to shine. Rahul, who scored only one run from five balls, was trapped in front of the wicket by Nyavchi.
