“You are rotten.” Omar Kamal and Hamo Beka are referred for investigation

The Syndicate of Musical Professions in Egypt referred mahraganat singers Omar Kamal and Hamo Beka to investigation for insulting women.

The crisis of the singing duo flared up when Omar Kamal, accompanied by Hamo Beka, published a video clip of the song through his personal Facebook account a few days ago, which opened the door to a sharp attack once morest them, and many considered their behavior an insult to women, calling on the Syndicate of Musical Professions to investigate them.

Amir Sami, the manager of the singer Omar Kamal, commented on the controversy surrounding the “You are rotten” video clip, which was similar to the original song, “You are a teacher.”

Sami said, in an exclusive statement to the “Veto” news website: “(You are rotten) is not a song, and it was not released in the first place,” stressing that “there is no official new song that Omar Kamal presented with Hamo Beka.”

It is noteworthy that the Musicians Syndicate in Egypt had decided, earlier, to suspend festivals singer Ahmed Khaled, known as “Coriander”, following insulting the late Egyptian scientist Ahmed Zewail.

Muhammad Abdullah, a spokesman for the syndicate, revealed that “Coriander” had been referred to the investigation, confirming that his permit to practice the singing profession had been suspended.

Abdullah explained, during a telephone conversation with the “90 Minutes” program on the “Al-Mehwar” channel, that the union was surprised a few days ago by releasing a song by the aforementioned artist, titled “I Have to Divorce,” indicating that a picture of Dr. Ahmed Zewail was placed on the special “video clip.” by song.

He stressed that the image of Zewail does not fit with this work, pointing out that the matter aroused the displeasure of Captain Mustafa Kamel, and he saw in it an insult to an Egyptian and Arab symbol worthy of respect and reverence.

He said that Kamel gathered mahraganat singers, and asked them to adhere to the quality of words, appearance and form, stressing that most of them signed an acknowledgment of that.
