Superstar Suresh Gopi’s daughter Bhagya Suresh responded with a body-shaming comment under her post on social media.
‘Congratulations, I think you’d better ditch the saree and wear a western outfit. What is the problem with saree, saree is not suitable for people who are overweight rather than tall. A western style skirt and blouse will make you look smarter than a saree,’ was one comment below Bhagya’s Instagram post, which shared the joy of graduating from the University of British Columbia.
‘Though you have not been entrusted with measuring my width and length, thank you for your valuable opinion. I will still wear clothes that fit me. I wanted to wear a traditional Kerala saree to honor my roots for a graduation ceremony in a foreign country where all Indian students are forced to dress in imitation of Westerners. Bhagya replied to this, ‘At least try not to show interest in me and focus on your own affairs and not comment on other people’s bodies and clothes’.
