Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the campaign aims to raise awareness of the dangers of addiction and provide good conditions and a healthy environment for those in recovery to spend and enjoy various occasions and holidays in an atmosphere of recovery, and to confirm their ability to enjoy life, without the need to abuse narcotic substances.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population added that the campaign provides protection for addiction patients during the Eid by extending the period of stay for patients detained in the internal departments of the municipality’s hospitals and postponing their discharge until the end of the Eid days, as well as allowing those who have recovered to participate in the campaign activities and spend the Eid night inside the hospital for their protection.
He continued: “Eid Than Other” activities are held inside or outside the General Secretariat’s hospitals and centers, such as cultural centers and sports clubs. Its activities include many sports, entertainment, and artistic activities that show the talents of those recovering, in addition to their talk regarding their treatment journey inside the Secretariat’s hospitals and centers.
The Secretariat is also keen, when holding the campaign, to celebrate the recovered people who completed their treatment in the 23 hospitals and centers affiliated with the Secretariat, which number 23 hospitals and centers in the governorates of the Republic, in addition to honoring the recovery guides working in the internal departments, given their important role in conveying their life experiences to patients during the period of abuse, through the period of their treatment in the Secretariat’s hospitals and centers. .
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population revealed the details of the Ministry’s launch of a campaign to support those recovering from drugs, entitled “You Are More Powerful Than Others.” She added that there are a group of services and youth camps inside hospitals aimed at protection and including recreational games with the aim of rehabilitating recovering youth. He stated that those recovering enjoy many activities and services during the recovery journey. From addiction, stressing: “Among the procedures for treating patients is following up with the family to provide a calm atmosphere for recovering patients.”
He pointed out that the campaign is present in 23 hospitals, and there are activities provided to those recovering from addiction, to develop their skills and gain different experiences and many professions.
