without resisting, Murillo Karam, former head of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR)was arrested on Friday in the Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood, between Montañas Calizas and Sierra Ventana streets, while he was with his brother and nieces.
In a video recorded during the arrest, it is heard that he calmly asks the agents to avoid traffic, as he assured them that he was willing to cooperate with the arrest warrant.
– We are stopping the traffic… do not get in the way, says Murillo Karam as he walks towards the sidewalk.
The people who accompanied him, as well as the elements of the Investigation Agency, follow him towards the sidewalk. Once there, one of the officers proceeds to introduce himself and point out the reason for his arrest.
– Don’t worry, you are fulfilling your job, The former official responds.
– It’s painful, the investigation officer points out while looking for the text that he should read to Murillo Karam regarding his rights.

Once once more, Murillo Karam asks them not to close the street. “Tell them there’s no need,” he says.

This Saturday, Murillo Karam was transferred to the North Prison.
At 9:00 a.m., the initial hearing began to charge him with the crimes of forced disappearance, torture and obstruction of justice that he allegedly committed during the investigations into the forced disappearance of the 43 normal school students from Ayotzinapa and the murder of 6 people, events that occurred on September 26, 2014.
