The Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugás received a new belt this Wednesday from Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), with a view to replacing one of the belts that were stolen from his home in Las Vegas in February of this year.

The delivery took place within the framework of the opening ceremony of the 102nd Convention of the pioneer organization at the Caribe Royale Hotel, in the city of Orlando, Florida.

It was in mid-February when two men entered the boxer’s home and several belongings were stolenincluding the belts obtained in several professional fights.

Dayanara León, wife of the Cuban boxer, shared the videos from the security cameras, in which the two individuals were seen entering the house. León assured that the thieves were Cuban judging by their accent and asked for help to identify them and report them to the police.

An empty safe, belts, five wallets and a backpack were all that was stolen by the two individuals, who arrived at the scene in a white Mercedes-Benz. In the videos it was seen that the two men had their faces half covered, and once they finished stealing, they ran away with the belongings in their hands.

It was not the first time that they broke into Yordenis Ugás’s house. In November 2019, he announced on his social networks that several cars were stolen while he was traveling. A year later he remembered the incident and celebrated that he had multiplied by ten everything that had been stolen from him.
