The mobile application of the university hospitals of Torrevieja and Vinalopó (Elche)managed by the Ribera Salud group, IPregnaCion has reached a total of 3 460 downloads in just three months since its launch. This application is part of a first set of mobile applications intended not only for patients, but also for the general population.
YoPregnancy is an application that includes all the information related to pregnancy and the changes that occur during this period, both in the baby and in the mother. This application, in which have participated obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians and nursesresponds to an obvious need of pregnant women, who increasingly use the Internet to obtain the information that interests them.
In contrast, iFirst Aid exceeds 550 shocks during these first months since birth. This application offers basic knowledge that allows the user to know how to act in the event of a health emergency. It includes simple information, explanatory videos involving doctors and nurses from the emergency department, in order to teach citizens what to do in a critical situation.
Finally, the app YooPino was released in this first package, which closed in July with 125 downloads. In this case, the application seeks to know what is the user’s perception of the care received in the hospital or in the health centers. The patient can comment on his experience in different services and rate his satisfaction anonymously.
Apps are available for Android and Apple users and can be downloaded for free from app stores or website www.riberasalud.com. It is planned to regularly update these applications in order to adapt them to the constant changes in the field of health technologies.
