Yoo Dong-gyu, the former head of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, who revealed that he had handed the presidential election funds to Kim Yong, a close aide to Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, spoke once more today.
He said that there were several chat rooms of Lee Jae-myung’s closest aides in the cell phone that he threw away at the time of the search and seizure last year, and that he submitted all the evidence kept to the prosecution.
Reporter Son Gu-min covered the story.

Last September, when prosecutors stormed the house, Yoo Dong-gyu, former head of Seongnam Urban Development Division, threw his cell phone out of the window on the ninth floor.
It was the last phone call I had with Jeong Jin-sang, head of the Political Affairs Coordination Office, and Kim Yong-yong, who are the closest aides to Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Former general manager Yoo met with reporters and said on the phone’s telegram at the time, “There were separate chat rooms such as the meeting of the heads of departments, the government affairs room, and the legal team.”
Jinsang Jeong, head of the department, and Yong Yong Kim, deputy director, are likely to have participated.
“I don’t know if you think I’ve erased the evidence, but not all traces are erased,” he said.
He didn’t reveal what was in the cloud, but he said, “You and others will be punished for what you get punished for.”
Prosecutors summoned the detained deputy director, Yong Kim, for five days in a row to investigate the relationship with former general manager Yoo.
In 2005, when the two of them engaged in apartment remodeling-related activities, until the Daejang-dong project, we investigated the relationship between the two.
Deputy Director Kim refused to testify, saying, “The prosecution is conducting unreasonable investigations without even giving the date that it received political funds.”
A prosecution official said, “The refusal to make a statement is also the right of the suspect,” and said, “We have sufficient evidence.”
It is also known that he secured a money bag or envelope with money.
The first detention period for Vice Director Kim ends tomorrow, and the prosecution plans to extend the detention period by ten days.
