“Yonhap”: military aircraft of Russia and China entered the air defense identification zone of South Korea

Seoul launched fighters in connection with the entry into the South Korean air defense identification zone of two Chinese and six Russian aircraft. The agency reports “Ryonghap” with reference to the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea. The Chinese and Russian planes did not violate South Korean airspace, but they are said to have entered the air defense identification zone without warning.

“At 05:48, two Chinese H-6 bombers flew into the air defense identification zone, left the zone at 06:13. At 06:44, the bombers once more entered from the area northeast of the South Korean port city of Pohang and left the area at 07:07. Then six Russian aircraft (four Tu-95 bombers and two Su-35 fighters), as well as two Chinese H -6 flew into the air defense zone from an area 200 km northeast of the southern island of Ulleung at 12:18, left it at 12:36, ”the agency reports.

The South Korean Air Force is asked to notify in advance of the entry of aircraft into the air defense identification zone. However, this zone, in addition to the airspace of South Korea, includes an area related to international airspace.
