Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a stern warning as protests once morest BJP leaders’ anti-prophetic remarks continue. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the police to be on 24-hour alert in the wake of Friday’s violence in Uttar Pradesh. A total of 255 people were arrested from different parts of UP. A high-level meeting chaired by Yogi was convened on Saturday to assess the situation. Clashes erupted in Prayag Raj, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Hathras, Firozabad and Ambedkar Nagar districts of Uttar Pradesh following Friday prayers.
Yogi Adityanath himself warned that the rebels would be confronted with bulldozers. Authorities demolished the houses of two accused in Saharanpur. The multi-storey buildings of a relative of the main accused in the violence in Kanpur on the 3rd of this month were also demolished. UP Chief Minister’s Media Adviser Mrityunjay Kumar tweeted that there was a Saturday following every Friday with a picture of a bulldozer destroying a building.
In Bengal, the dispute between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP continues. The clashes continue in Howrah and Murshidabad districts. Internet was banned till 14 in Howrah and Murshidabad in West Bengal. Police have arrested BJP state president Sukanda Majumdar for visiting Howrah. He was arrested following the police asked him to return but he refused.
Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that some political parties are behind the riots. This can no longer be allowed. Why should ordinary people bother with the BJP’s actions’ – Mamata tweeted.
