Yoann Provenzano back on the boards with “The show is permanent” – rts.ch

At 31, Yoann Provenzano has already lived several lives: YouTuber, radio columnist, actor in the Zep and Gary Grenier series “La vie de JC”, presenter of the show “Cash” on RTS and stand-up comedian . After “Seul(s) dans ma tête” in 2016, the Veveysan presents its new solo on stage entitled “Le spectacle est permanent”.

A return to basics

“Few people know it, but I started making jokes on stage eleven years ago, explains Yoann Provenzano to RTS. The first time went pretty well, people were laughing. Then I continued a few flabs. When you’re 20, you give up more quickly. So I put that on hold and started making videos on the internet. That’s where the ‘Provenzano Sphere’ was created!”

An amused observer of the failings of society, Yoann Provenzano plays the card of introspection for “Le spectacle est permanent”. Dropping the characters that made him famous on social networks, he talks about his life in a way that is both frank and candid. Without artifice, his voice carries the show. “There is still a bit of staging, though. I collaborated with Elina Morf, who is part of my production company, Jokers Comedy. We tried to have a small set and beautiful lights, to use this scenography. But the body of the show is above all the stand-up”, specifies Yoann Provenzano.

Laughing at complexes

The young thirty-year-old also addresses his complexes and physical problems in his show. “Thirty is this somewhat bizarre crossroads between the too old teenager and the too young adult. That’s what I’m going through at the moment and what I want to transcribe on stage.”

He cites the anecdote of his atypical teeth, now corrected. If the comedian had learned to accept it as it is, in particular thanks to the footballer Ronaldinho who made his smile a commercial argument, this intervention was “more hygienic than aesthetic!”

Bringing generations together

Yoann Provenzano has been crisscrossing French-speaking Switzerland for two and a half years as presenter of the program “Cash”. In exchange for ten correct answers to general knowledge questions, participants win 1,000 francs. A job that allowed him to meet a different audience from his usual audience: “There isn’t a week when I haven’t been asked for a 1,000 franc note in the street! This program allowed me to meet a slightly older audience and children”.

Thanks to him, the average age of the “Cash” audience has dropped. “It’s a unifying show, and I’m sure I was chosen for this reason, my unifying and authentic side.”
