In September, some select areas will continue to receive these funds, while others have ended their stimulus programs. Below, we tell you which states will continue to receive this aid.
In New York
In New York, the School Tax Relief Program (STAR) will continue to provide relief to homeowners. This program, intended to reduce school taxes, will be reflected on bills from August through December. Recipients can receive a basic credit of $778 or an enhanced credit of $1,407, depending on their eligibility.
Permanent Fund dividends
Alaska will continue its stimulus program with the Permanent Fund Annual Dividend (PFD) in September. This program distributes a portion of the state’s energy and mining revenues to its residents. Recipients will receive a payment of $1,312 on September 12, provided they meet the established requirements.
New Mexico: Refunds and Additional Payments
In New Mexico, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has confirmed that taxpayers will continue to receive tax refunds. Married couples filing jointly will be able to get up to $1,000, while singles or married filing separately will receive $500. Additionally, those who do not qualify for these refunds will be able to access relief payments ranging from $500 to $1,000.
Washington: Continued support for low-income households
In Tacoma, Washington, the Growing Resilience program will continue to provide monthly $500 checks to low-income households through June 2025. This program, which began in April 2024, is targeted at randomly selected families who meet certain income criteria and live in specific areas.
