Washington: The Yemeni forces strongly warned that the US will be fully responsible for the consequences of the US Navy’s attacks on Yemeni boats in the Red Sea.
On December 31, US naval helicopters attacked four Yemeni navy boats. Three boats were sunk in the sea and at least 10 Yemeni soldiers were killed.
Yemeni army spokesman Brigadier General Yahia Saree said the attack was on Yemeni boats carrying out official duties, working for security in the Red Sea in connection with maritime exploration.
He also said that the attack was on soldiers who were carrying out their humanitarian and moral responsibilities, blocking ships bound for occupied Palestine in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
“America’s enemies will bear the responsibility for the consequences of this crime. Their military action to protect Israeli ships will not deter Yemen from our humanitarian and religious responsibilities to support the oppressed people of Palestine and Gaza,’ Yahya Saari said in a released statement.
Yemen has warned all countries not to join the US plan to conduct conflict in the Red Sea. The statement said that attacks once morest the country and its people will be resisted by any means.
