Yemen – The head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, called yesterday, Wednesday, for unifying the Arab position in confronting “Israel’s criminality.”
He said, “Palestine has a place in the heart of every Yemeni, and it is one of our holiest sanctities.”
This came in a televised speech by Al-Alimi on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Yemeni revolution that broke out on September 26, 1962 against the Imamate rule, broadcast by the official Yemen Satellite Channel, and followed by an Anatolia correspondent.
Al-Alimi said, “Palestine has a place in the heart of every Yemeni, and it is among our holiest sanctities… a place that Israel will not hijack through occupation, massacres, and wars of extermination and displacement.”
He condemned “the continuation of the Israeli war of annihilation against the people of occupied Palestine.”
Al-Alimi stressed that “unifying the Arab ranks in the face of the arrogance and criminality of the Zionist entity is the best way to show solidarity and support the Palestinian cause.”
He called on the international community to “assume its responsibilities in order to force the Israeli occupation to stop its ongoing crimes, provide urgent and adequate relief to the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, and support their aspirations to establish their independent, fully sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
With American support, since October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that has left more than 136,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
In disdain for the international community, Israel continues the war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
