The Royal Meteorological Institute is launching a yellow alert for slippery conditions across the country – with the exception of the Coast – on Friday evening until Saturday morning.
The IRM provides for “more frequent and intense winter showers over the southern half of the country, mainly affecting the provinces of Hainaut, Namur, Luxembourg and Liège“. Above 400 meters, these showers will generally be in the form of snow and the accumulations of powder can reach between 1 and 5 cm, even locally a little more.

Temperatures will be close to 0 almost everywhere in Belgium during the night and the still wet parts of the ground surface might then freeze and lead to the formation of ice patches, further warns the MRI.
