He National Metereological Service (SMN) issued a yellow alert as a consequence of the high temperatures that will punish the provinces of Neuquén, Mendoza, San Luis, La Pampa, Buenos Aires, Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Santiago del Estero, Córdoba, Santa Fe and the City of Buenos Aires.
In the City of Buenos Aires, for its part, for Tuesday, February 27, a minimum temperature of around 23 degrees is expected, and a maximum that will reach 35 degrees. According to the forecast, the trend will be replicated throughout the week, with a maximum point of heat predicted for Wednesday, with highs of up to 36° and the possibility of storms for that night.
Inside the country
In Santiago del Estero, high temperatures are forecast for the southeast and in Córdoba for the northwest, also with maximum marks that will be around 34 and 35 degrees; while in Mendoza the yellow alert covers the east of Las Heras, La Paz, Lavalle, San Martín and Santa Rosa, with highs of 35 degrees. Particularly, in the sectors of Cuyo and the Pampas region, it might exceed 35 °C for several consecutive days.
The body that depends on the Ministry of Science, Technology and Production for Defense; towns of Corrientes, Entre Ríos, Santiago del Estero, Córdoba, Santa Fe and Mendoza, among those affected with maximum temperatures of 35 degrees on average.
Recommendations for the heat wave
Due to the high temperatures, the SMN recommends moderate sun exposure and physical activity, and be alert to symptoms of sunstroke, dehydration and heat stroke. Also pay special attention to the consumption of liquids to stay hydrated, wear loose, light and light-colored clothing preferably.
The SMN yellow alert indicates that temperatures can have a mild to moderate effect on health, but can be dangerous for risk groups, such as boys and girls, people over 65, with chronic diseases.
