Year of the Diplomats Lozoraičiai – concert in the Pantheon of Rome, commemoration in the USA

As provided for in the plan approved by the Government, a classical music concert will be held in the Pantheon of Rome in the coming year – a special program of the Vilnius Quartet of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic to commemorate the life and activities of the Lozoraičius family in Italy and the Vatican.

It is also planned to prepare and exhibit the exhibition “Villa Lituania” in Rome, “Museo della Civilta”. The installation of the artists Gediminas and Nomedas Urboņi will consist of a dovecote model reminiscent of the architecture of “Villa Lituania” and video films regarding the Lozoraičiai family of diplomats who lived in exile, graffiti of protest once morest the Lithuanian occupation in Rome.

A publicity campaign dedicated to the commemoration of the Lozoraičiai Year will also be organized – a video film, targeted information material for journalists, a series of lectures at Italian universities. The campaign will also target the Italian media, academic, political, business communities and the general public.

In commemoration of this occasion, the aim is to create a documentary film regarding the Lozoraičiai family with the recorded memories of the Lozoraičiai’s life witnesses from Lithuania, the USA and Italy. The film will be shown at events at Lithuanian diplomatic missions, the Italian Parliament, during lectures at Italian universities, and on Lithuanian and Italian TV shows.

It is planned to prepare and exhibit a mobile exhibition of documents and photographs in the Italian Parliament regarding the life and activities of the Lozoraičiai family, to organize the commemoration of the Lozoraičiai year in the United States, presenting the history of the Lozoraičiai family, which reflects the history of Lithuania, to the political, academic, business and cultural communities of the United States, to the youth, and to the general public.

Next year, the Lithuanian National Philharmonic wants to organize a Vilnius Festival concert dedicated to the memory of Stasios Lozoraitis Jr. At the concert of the Vilnius municipality St. The Kristoforos Chamber Orchestra and Choir “Jauna Muzika” will perform “Requiem in memoriam Stasys Lozoraitis” by Osvaldos Balakauskas.

The year 2024 has been declared the year of diplomats Lozoraičiai – the year of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Stasios Lozoraitis Sr., the Lithuanian diplomatic representative in Washington Stasios Lozoraitis Jr. and the representative of Lithuania to the Holy See Kazios Lozoraitis.
