Year 2 of the CNRD: Fodé Baldé draws up a generally “negative” assessment

As the CNRD prepares to celebrate the second anniversary of its accession to power, the political class remains divided on the record of its management of power. At the Union of Republican Forces (UFR), officials draw up a generally “negative” assessment of the junta in power.

For Fodé Baldé, the communication manager of the UFR, the best way to take stock of the CNRD is to compare the speech of Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya delivered on September 5, 2021 and the actions taken on the ground.

“We were told on September 5 that no Guinean will die from now on because of politics. Are Guineans not dead? We were told that justice will be the compass, today we have political and civil society actors who are forced into exile, there are people who are detained and who demand to be judged. Today, in all sectors of activity, magistrates, political parties, teachers, everyone has gone on strike. So for me, the balance sheet is negative”.

According to Fodé Baldé, refoundation and governing differently are simple “slogans” used by the junta to “deceive” the vigilance of Guineans.

“Our country is built on work, justice and solidarity. Refounding Guinea means rebuilding our country on these three values. But it was under the CNRD that we put an entire administration here on retirement without thinking of a generational transition or having control of the Civil Service file”, lambasted the communication manager of the UFR on Sunday 27 August 2023 in “Over the transition” on FIM FM.

As for the road infrastructure that the CNRD is building, this close friend of Sidya raises concerns regarding the efficiency of the work. Prime Minister Dr Bernard Gomou announced last week that the transitional government already has 2,252 kilometers of paved roads across the country.

Does the infrastructure built meet the standards? Do they reflect the amount released by the government to do the work? These are among other questions that Fodé Baldé asks himself.
