The Syrian artist, Yazan Al-Rishani, appeared in a radio interview on Sham FM radio, during which he stated that friendship and study fellowship link him with the artists: Hassan Khalil, Yoshua MahmoudRama Zine El Abidine, who recently starred in the series “Kisser Adham”.

Al-Rishani embodies the character of “Elia” in the series Kasr Adham, who lives with his friends Alaa and Sumer and falls in love with his young neighbor, “Reem”, whose role is played by the artist Rama Zine El Abidine.

Al-Rishani denied the existence of an emotional connection between him and Zine El Abidine, explaining that a friendship has united them since 2015, especially that they studied in one batch and graduated in 2020 from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus.

Behind the scenes of choosing the role of Elijah

The artist Yazan Al-Rishani revealed that his choice to embody the character “Elia” came directly from the director Rasha Sharbatji without passing an acting test.

Al-Rishani stated that he was not afraid of the details of “smoking the hashish” associated with the character of “Elijah”, as it is justified dramatically, as it is his way to escape from his miserable life, pointing out to his discovery that his happiness is not in escaping but in love.

Al-Rishani believes that Elia’s personality is greater than this detail, but the focus on it is due to the fact that 70% of Syrian youth escape reality and pressures in the same way.

Al-Rishani was asked regarding the birthmark behind Elia’s ear, and he explained that it was put with make-up, as a distinct detail of Elia’s personality and his connection to his mother, who represents his whole world.

The difference between Yazan Al-Rishani and Elia

The artist, Yazan Al-Rishani, explained that the character of Elia does not resemble him, as Elia is isolated and unable to integrate into his society as a result of the harsh conditions of his life, as he lived alone with his mother following his father abandoned them.

Al-Rishani believes that he is not isolated like Elijah and is not social, as he is a balanced person as much as possible, pointing to the intersection of some of his qualities with those of Elijah without clarifying these qualities.

Al-Rishani also sees that young people: Elia, Sumer and Alaa suffer from depression, so Elijah’s depression appears in the form of lethargy and isolation, while Sumer expresses his depression with a lot of words and criticism, and Alaa empties his depression with laughter.
