the essentials in brief
Surprising news from Yasemin and Jochen: Shortly following the finale of “Wedding at First Sight” in 2023, they announced their separation on Instagram.
In the final, Yasemin and Jochen decided to get married
In “Wedding at First Sight,” the clerk and the police commissioner experienced a journey full of ups and downs. After their dream wedding, the first dark clouds began to gather during their honeymoon in Bali. But the couple managed to give the experiment and marriage a chance. At the end of the anniversary season, Yasemin and Jochen finally decided to get married – but above all to get to know each other once more.

First hint of separation
A notice online caused a stir, suggesting that Yasemin and Jochen had already gone their separate ways before the big finale was broadcast. Because it seemed that Yasemin had put her “Wedding at First Sight” wedding dress up for sale. “I’m selling a beautiful wedding dress. The dress is two months old and has no signs of wear. The new price was 2,800 euros,” said the description on the “Classifieds” platform.
Yasemin and Jochen announce their separation
Now there is sad certainty: Jochen announced his separation from Yasemin on Instagram one day following the grand finale of “Wedding at First Sight” in 2023. “As you might see last night on SAT.1, we ended the experiment as a couple. In the weeks that followed, we did a lot of things together, saw each other often and got to know each other better,” the 38-year-old addressed his followers. Further in the post: “We both opened up more, but following some time we came to the conclusion that the similarities and positive qualities of each other were not enough to have a marriage or to continue living as a couple.”

Jochen: “We parted on good terms”
But there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the two. “Unfortunately, things didn’t work out enough for us and we parted on good terms,” explained Jochen, adding: “Even though we’ve gotten closer over time and gotten to know each other’s good sides, it still has a negative impact on us Couple wasn’t enough.” Finally, the police commissioner from St. Wendel also addressed Yasemin and her family directly in his Instagram post: “All the best for the future! It was nice to have met you.”
Yasemin: “It wasn’t regarding fame”
One day following Jochen’s post, Yasemin also commented on the separation on Instagram. As the 31-year-old explained, she was able to open up more and more to her husband. Nevertheless, in the end it was no longer enough for a future together. “Each of us had/has the need to arrive, that’s what this experiment was regarding. But it’s just an experiment and no guarantee that it will work,” wrote the clerk from Völklingen and emphasized: “This wasn’t regarding it either Fame or getting on TV!”
